Here is a 1980 Easterly 38 in New Orleans that is rumored to be the last one built.
If you look closely, it has the more squared area above the v-berth. Also, if look closely at the cockpit, you can see how narrow the combing is and how it is widened at one point to accommodate the winch. This boat, Yankee, was getting a bit run down, but over the last year some improvements have been made.
could not just let there be one member here. I have Easterly 38 '77 hull 22. Still in good shape. Still running on original volvo MD-11C engine.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the proud owners of the Yankee (although at times it feels like she's the one that owns us). I had no idea this was the last of it's kind! She just got new hatches, a new bottom, and we are working on some of the brightwork and rigging to get ready for the summer sailing season. Thanks for the post!
